Winter League
A review of all the Division 3 matches played on Monday 14 February
Following Lindley BC 'B's fine 8-0 win last week over their biggest challengers, Thorpe Green 'C', they took the next step by claiming the points required to lift the division's title. They built on that result to create a 10-point lead over their nearest challengers and finish strongly.
Janet Hayden was the first on the green and duly obliged her team by claiming the win 21-19 and the 2 points to confirm where the title was going in this inaugural season.
League Chairman, Mike Ralph, presented the trophy to captain Peter Fuller after the match to finish a thoroughly enjoyable season, not only for the Champions but to all the teams in the division. Congratulations to Lindley BC 'B' on their success.

In the other matches, Dalton continued to impress with a 6-2 win over Rastrick 'B' to finish the season with just a single defeat in their final 11 matches and sit clear in third place. A final day win included a great fightback by their Pairs players David Ray and Phil Goodge who found themselves 2-12 down but timed their recovery well to run out 21-20 winners.
Thorpe Green 'C' had a hangover from their previous week's defeat which saw them held to a 4-4 draw this week by Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' and were grateful to a 21-2 win for Gill Todd to claim the aggregate and a share of the spoils.
Milnsbridge 'B' completed a 6-2 win double over Brockholes and end a 7-match losing run whilst at the same time inflicting a 5-match losing run on their opponents all with the same 2-6 scoreline.
