Leaders to threaten Rastrick record

Veterans League A preview of fixtures in the 10-Man League for Tuesday 12 July

Only fixtures for Division 1 and 2 teams again this week with Division 1 leaders Golcar Lib 'A' the latest outfit to challenge Rastrick's 100% home win record. Third-placed Rastrick have every incentive to win the match being just 5 points behind the leaders and every chance of leapfrogging them in the table.

Elland C&BC 'A' shot up the table to second-place last week and will be frustrated by having the day off this week and Lockwood Con 'A' will be aiming to avoid conceding a league double at Kirkheaton Con 'A'.

The two Lindley teams both have difficult away matches this Tuesday with the Lib at Waterloo and the Bowling Club meeting a Cowcliffe side looking for a 6th win in their last 7 fixtures. Clayton West and Longwood are 10th and 11th respectively in the table as they meet this week with the winner aiming to finally put any doubts about relegation behind them.

Contrary to their excellent home form Meltham 'A' just cannot edge the points away from home turf and will make the 6th attempt this season to clock up an away win at Marsh United 'A' this time.

The top four teams in Division 2 are in opposition this week which could go a long way to sorting out the promotion topic. The top two both have home advantage as the leaders, Milnsbridge 'A', entertain 4th placed Bradley & Colne and Almondbury BC 'A' have Lowerhouses as guests.

Netherton Con 'A' could take advantage of the top four confrontations as they have a home match against their nearest rivals Broad Oak 'A' who sit 6 points behind them. The Netherton side are just one point behind Lowerhouses and Bradley & Colne so could become the biggest threat to the top two after this week's results get posted.

Slaithwaite have struggled in recent weeks with a single win in their last seven matches and posting a 0-9 reversal last time out. Now with a run of 3 home matches in their next four fixtures against teams they could expect to beat they have the opportunity to put any lingering thoughts of becoming involved in the relegation tussle behind them. With home matches to follow against Lockwood Con 'B' and Brockholes 'A' they begin that run with a home encounter with mid-table Shepley.

Hemplow 'A' are looking to build on two good home wins when travelling to bottom team Brockholes 'A' this week who are now 21 points adrift of a relegation-avoiding position.

Thorpe Green and Lockwood Con 'B' still look like the duo from which the second relegation team will come but Lockwood Con's improved recent form (3 wins in their last 5 matches) gives them the edge as they entertain a New Mill 'A' side who have posted a solitary away win from seven played. Whereas Thorpe Green have to go to Thongsbridge who have hit some good form with only the leaders beating them in their last 4 fixtures.
