Review of the 10-Man League Division 1 & 2 matches played on 2 May 2023
The last 100% win team record in Division 1 has gone the way of the other 12 teams as Marsh United 'A' went down in dramatic style losing 8-1 at Waterloo on Tuesday. Golcar Lib 'A' returned the only away win of the day when winning 7-2 at Elland C&BC and that was sufficient to swat away the threat from Cowcliffe and Rastrick to take over at the top, who both won their home matches to stay 2nd and 3rd. Meltham went down 3-6 at Cowcliffe but still moved up a place to 4th but the 2-7 loss at Rastrick for Lowerhouses sees them drop one place to 11th.
Milnsbridge 'A' collected their first win of the season with an impressive 6-3 home win over Lockwood Con 'A' to kick-start their season although they remain at the foot of the table for now. Kirkheaton Con 'A' had an 8-1 home win over Clayton West to move six places up the table to fifth position.
In Division 2 Netherton Con 'A' have taken over at the top of the table as previous leaders, Lindley Lib 'A' lost the Lindley derby going down 3-6 allowing Netherton to take over with an 8-1 away win at Linthwaite Hall and now have the only unbeaten record in Division 2. Despite that win over their neighbours, Lindley BC 'A' still drop a place to fourth as Shepley muscle in on the promotion positions with a 9-0 home win over Thorpe Green.
A good 7-2 home win for Broad Oak 'A' over New Mill 'A' saw them leapfrog their opponents to fifth place but the top four seem to be breaking away from the rest of the pack with an ominous 5-point gap already appearing. Almondbury BC 'A' and Thongsbridge 'A' both cemented their places in mid-table with home wins over Hemplow 'A' and Holmfirth 'A' respectively condemning their opponents to bottom three positions where they join Bradley & Colne. The only redeeming feature being that all three teams have played a match less than most of the other teams in the division.
