Kirkheaton Con 'A' lose!

Veterans 10-Man League

Definitely worth a mention is the first away defeat of the season for Kirkheaton Con 'A' when they were well beaten at Lindley BC 7-2 yesterday in Section 2 of the Veterans 10-Man League. This rearranged match due to a COVID-19 incident led to the first defeat in 14 league fixtures for the Con, add on to that 7 KO ties also won extending the total games to 21 since a loss. As a result Lindley BC 'A' move into the second promotion spot but still 21 points behind the leaders although things are getting a little congested in that area with 4 teams now separated by 5 points.

Jeff, I don’t suppose that a first defeat in 14 league matches or 21 including cup games is a record.

Does your analysis of leagues provide the record of unbeaten games in recent years ? Does this defeat herald another unbeaten run for the Cons.? Philip of Lindley

Not sure if it is a record or not . The League's Bowlsnet records go back to 2014 and one week when I have nothing else to do I may wade through them. I think the 8 consecutive away wins may be a record but I could easily be wrong on that.
