The delayed Julie Fuller Trophy Quarter-Final tie between Golcar C&BC and Brockholes 'A' was duly completed yesterday to provide the Semi-Final line up to be played on 1 August. That saw the Golcar C&BC team progress to a meeting against Clayton West, two teams that have never won this trophy.
The other Semi-Final pitches the current holders of the title, Slaithwaite, against Lockwood Con who are also seeking their first success in this competition. The teams go head-to-head on neutral greens on Monday 1 August with the two winners progressing to the Final to be played at Hemplow on Friday 12 August.
My forecasts for the Quarter-Finals proved spot-on except to be let down by Marsh United 'A' who could only field four bowlers so inevitably lost their chance of progressing and spoilt my forecast.
