League News

Looking ahead to next week's fixtures starting with the Veterans 6-Man League on Monday where the first competition of the season gets underway. Different format this year for the Julie Fuller Trophy with all 28 teams left in the competition going into a 4-match league season starting on Bank Holiday Monday. All 28 teams are in a single league. Teams are still handicapped and will play in the usual 3-Pairs format. At the end of the 4-match season, the top 4 teams based on 'Aggregate For' totals go into the Knock-Out semi-finals and from there the two finalists will emerge. It is also different in that the matches will be played on the green of the first-named team and not on neutral greens as has been the tradition. Hope that is correct and if not, no doubt someone will correct me.
The teams have been matched up against each other with Scratch teams meeting teams with a maximum 18-handicap in the main and 12 and 6-handicap teams meeting each other. The Julie Fuller Trophy is the only KO competition for the 6-man teams. It is different and I am sure it will be interesting and we await the shock results that teams having to play 3-Pairs tends to bring. The full set of Week 1 fixtures is below.
