Preview of the Veterans 6-Man League fixtures scheduled for Monday 10 July

After a two-week break for Sub-Team KO action the focus returns to League matters as the 36 six-man teams resume the fights to win titles or avoid relegation. The biggest top-of-the-table lead in any of the divisions is in Division 1 where Marsh United 'A' have a 9-points lead over reigning Champions Shepley 'A'.
This week the top four teams all have away fixtures with the leaders at Milnsbridge 'A' who have lost their last 3 home matches. Second-placed Shepley 'A' go to relegation-threatened Crosland Moor and Skel Windmill 'A' have the most challenging fixture at 5th-placed Brockholes 'A'. That leaves 4th-placed Golcar C&BC away at strugglers Longwood.
Bottom-of-the-table Elland C&BC welcome visitors Lockwood Con who will be keen to take a win and open up a gap away from the relegation candidates. That just leaves the mid-table tussle of two out-of-form teams with Netherton Con having lost their last four fixes and Thongsbridge 'A' only beating Elland C&BC in their last five matches.
Slaithwaite are on a five-match winning run which has taken them to the summit of the Division 2 table and look forward to two home fixtures against top-five opponents. That starts this week with 5th placed Golcar Lib the visiting outfit and they are on a three-match winning run of their own. The two Lindley Lib teams fill 2nd and 3rd places and this Monday they face each other with plenty of incentives on both fronts. The 'B' team lads have won their last 5 matches whilst the 'A' side have lost 2 of their last 4 and with no home advantage there is everything to play for.
Paddock I&C have the opportunity to redeem themselves when they will be looking to take a step over whichever is the losing Lindley Lib team when they travel to play bottom-of-the-table Skel Windmill 'B' who haven't had a win since the opening day of the season. Denby Dale stepped out of the relegation places last week and will be looking to build on that when travelling to play Holmfirth 'A' and any points would be welcome. Same applies to Linthwaite Hall who will want to narrow that gap to safety but will have it all on at Clayton West this Monday. Almondbury Lib are at home to Milnsbridge 'B' who will be looking to build on a first win in five when they beat Clayton West last week.
In Division 3 the top two teams play the bottom two as leaders Marsh Lib go to winless Shepley 'B' and 2nd in the table Marsh United 'B' host Brockholes 'B'. With a 4-points lead and a game in hand over their prime rivals the Marsh Lib team will be looking to consolidate that advantage and give their rivals no encouragement by gifting points as the teams reach the midpoint stage of the season.
Thongsbridge 'C' have a Friday home fixture against Greenhead Park by which time it is unlikely they will have held on to 4th place with four teams no more than 2 points behind them in the table and all in action on Monday.
