Review of the Division 1 and 2 fixtures played on Tuesday 9 May
Division 1 Champions Golcar Lib 'A' have begun the season exactly how they left it from last year and a 7-2 home win over Kirkheaton Con 'A' this week saw them stretch their lead from 3 to 8 points. With Cowcliffe without a match and Rastrick losing 2-7 away at Clayton West allowing the lead at the top become greater than expected at this stage of the season.
Marsh United 'A' move up a place to fifth after a dominating 8-1 home win over bottom side Milnsbridge 'A'. Two teams you don't expect to see in the bottom four are there today after surprise losses this Tuesday. Lockwood Con 'A' were the only home team to lose this week and a 2-7 reversal at the hands of Waterloo was as big as it was surprising whilst Elland C&BC are also loitering in the nether regions after losing 3-6 away to Lowerhouses.
Meltham continue their sequence of winning big at home and doing the opposite away from home with a home win over Longwood 7-2 which sees them drop into the relegation places.
A first defeat of the season for Netherton Con 'A' cost them their top of the Division 2 position and a 4-5 home loss to Broad Oak 'A' was certainly not on the cards. Lindley Lib 'A' took full advantage of that setback for the leaders with a 9-0 whitewash home win over Bradley & Colne to take over at the top. However that outcome condemned Bradley & Colne to the bottom-of-the-table position. Shepley continue to hang on to the coattails of the top two and retain third place after a 6-3 away win at New Mill 'A' and that also results in an 8-point gap materialising between third and Broad Oak in fourth.
It is getting a little congested in mid-table with a group of four separated by 1 point and led by Thorpe Green who saw of Linthwaite Hall 7-2 and Thongsbridge 'A' join that quartet after a 5-4 away win at Hemplow 'A' who drop into the relegation zone as a result.
