Preview of the Divisions 1 & 2 fixtures scheduled for Tuesday 30 May

A great opportunity this week for the Division 1 leaders, Golcar Lib 'A' to stretch their lead as they are the only top-four team to have a home match this Tuesday. They play a Meltham team looking for a first away win of the season and to claim that win would be a remarkable achievement for them. The 7-points lead looks secure in the light of their main opponents, Marsh United 'A' playing at Kirkheaton Con 'A' and Waterloo away at 5th placed Cowcliffe. Second-placed Rastrick are without a match this week but will hope to hang on to that place and that their 5-points advantage isn't totally eroded.
Longwood had a great win away at Marsh United 'A' last week and will hope to build on that at home to bottom-of-the-table Milnsbridge 'A' this week and continue their journey up the table.
The two teams looking also to steer themselves away from the relegation places are Clayton West and Elland C&BC and both have winnable home matches this week. Clayton West's home form hasn't been as formidable as in recent season so far but they will aim to put that behind them when an improving Lowerhouses team come to visit. Elland C&BC versus Lockwood Con 'A' is usually a top-three encounter but not this year with both teams wallowing in the bottom half of the table and both desperate for points to move out of the danger zone.
A great match is in store at Netherton Con this week as the Division 2 table-toppers Lindley Lib 'A' come to visit. The Netherton side is 2 places and 6 points behind the leaders having lost 2 of their last 3 fixtures whilst the Lindley team has lost their last two away matches and will need to be more resilient than that if they are to retain that lead. With second-placed Shepley without a match this week there opens up a great opportunity for both teams to stamp their authority on the promotion battle. The Lindley BC 'A' versus Almondbury BC 'A' could be renamed the '6-3 match' as Lindley have won their last 3 matches by that 6-3 scoreline whilst the Almondbury side can better that having won their last 5 matches 6-3.
Two of the bottom three teams go up against each other when bottom team Linthwaite Hall host Holmfirth 'A' with just one point between them at present. Bradley & Colne are sandwiched between those two teams and will not want to end the day any lower after their home encounter with Thongsbridge 'A'. Broad Oak 'A' have won all three of their home matches to date and will have little fear of losing that record when Hemplow 'A' are this week's visitors. New Mill 'A' at home to Thorpe Green completes the Division 2 programme for this week.
