Golcar Lib knocked out of Bistro 2023

Runaway leaders of the Division 1 title chase in the 10-Man League are Golcar Lib 'A' but they will not be adding the Bistro title to their honours list this season after going down to Division 1 rivals Cowcliffe by 86-81. On this occasion the six difference in the handicaps proved to be key and Cowcliffe progressed through to the quarter-finals where they will meet Thongsbridge 'A'. The Thongsbridge team progressed at the expense of Clayton West who were the only other Division 1 casualty at this stage of the competition where again the handicap difference was crucial in the result. There is only one of the four quarter-finals that doesn't feature a Division 1 team as Milnsbridge 'B' from the top of Division 5 meet Division 3 strugglers Lockwood Con 'B' and that will be a big challenge for the Lockwood Con side as they have to give their opponents a start of 20 points. It all starts up again on Thursday next week (20 July) with the neutral greens still to be allocated.
