Golcar C&BC's 2nd big win of the season

Report on the Division 5 matches played at Netherton Con on Thursday 10 November

Last week we reported on the plight of the Division 5 all-ladies team of Golcar C&BC and how they collected their first win of the season.

Unfortunately that win was only the Breakfast Raffle but we are delighted to now report that they have claimed their first match win of their inaugural season in the Winter League and they did it in style. A rampant team performance to record a well deserved 8-0 win over Almondbury BC 'B' which lifted them off the foot of the table.

But it wasn't just the Golcar ladies that clocked up their first win of the season as they were joined by Huddersfield Rugby Club after a 6-2 win over Brockholes 'B' who are now on their own at the bottom of the table and the last team in the division seeking their first win of the season.

At the opposite end of the table the top two teams clashed with Thorpe Green 'C' overcoming their nearest rivals, Netherton Con 'B', with a 6-2 victory which helped them to establish a 6-point lead over the same rivals. Springwood clocked up an 8-0 win over Milnsbridge 'C' and they were rewarded by leapfrogging the same opponents to go third in the table.
