The Veterans League Rose Bowl Finals Day at Holmfirth BC on Friday was an opportune moment to mark the achievement of Holmfirth bowler, Geoff Rollinson, in still being an active member of his club in the League as he passes his 90th birthday. The Veterans League President, John Pearman, presented the plaque below to Geoff to commemorate this achievement.

When I say 'active member' that is exactly what I mean, both on and off the green. At the Rose Bowl Finals Day, Geoff was on duty serving hot drinks and cakes as well as washing crockery and generally making visitors to the club most welcome.

Active on the green, he is the only Holmfirth A team member to play in all 19 League matches this season. Geoff has been a regular entrant in the League's individual and pairs competitions over the years, including his one success when he teamed up with clubmate Peter Sykes to win the Pairs KO title in 2018 at Almondbury Lib. Well done Geoff, a true clubman and really nice bloke.

The Veterans League marks such achievements with a presentation to mark these milestone events. If your club has an active member reaching their 90th birthday then get in touch with a League official to make sure that achievement is not missed.
