Crown Green v Flat Green bowls challenge

‘Clash of the Codes’ is organised by Heaton Hall BC in support of Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Notice is now given of the first inaugural Clash of the Codes, a Crown Green vs Flat Green challenge match taking place on May 28 from 10am at Heaton Hall Bowling Club. The teams involved are Lloyd Hotel Bowling Club of Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Heaton Hall Bowling Club of Prestwich. With both sides boasting current county champions, national champions and international players, the scene is set for a fantastic day of bowls, all-day music and fun for the family.

The unique set-up of the venue means it is possible to hold the world’s first simultaneous cross-code bowls event and one that will bring spectators from across the country together.

Members of the public are welcome to enjoy the event and try bowls throughout the day, or simply drop in and say ‘hi’.

There will be catering trucks for both food and alcohol, music and plenty of bowls to watch. Several of the event organisers and players will be getting involved and there will be a raffle and donations on the day in support of Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Clash of the Codes is set to be one of the major events of the UK bowls calendar having the approval of Bowls England and the British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA).

The Clash of the Codes is kindly sponsored by Fox Engravers.

Heaton Hall Bowling Club, St Margaret’s Entrance, Prestwich M25 2SW.
