Veteran's 6-Man League Weekly Preview
Big game in Section C this Monday when the top two teams put their unbeaten records on the line as they face each other at Slaithwaite. As well as having home advantage Slaithwaite probably has headway in the points count as they are only 2 points behind Almondbury Lib, the current leaders, with a game in hand. These are the last two 100% win records in the League this season so adding a further dimension to the confrontation. Five points separate the bottom 5 teams and this is a great opportunity for Hemplow to move off the foot when they host 3rd from bottom Shepley 'B' who haven't won since the opening day of the season. Brockholes 'B' are level on points with Hemplow but without a game this week so look the most vulnerable with Marsh Lib and Thongsbridge 'A' both within range and they both face top-four opposition this Monday.
Equally big game in Section B this week when the bottom two teams are in contest with bottom team Primrose Hill Lib needing a big result to reduce the 7 point gap between themselves and Clayton West. Marsh United and Meltham are just 4 and 5 points ahead of Clayton West and as they both have top two opposition this Monday points are going to be at a premium putting them within striking distance of their nearest challenger.
We still await the reinputting of the result of the Paddock I&C v Lindley Lib Section A bottom two teams meeting of last week but both these teams have stiffer opposition this week when they have top 3 opponents. Lindley Lib entertains Netherton Con wondering which team will turn up. Will it be the side that ended Shepley A's unbeaten start to the season last Monday or the team that lost at foot of the table Paddock I&C the week before? Oakfield are well in the relegation mix and will be looking for points from their match at home to Milnsbridge to counter any move by their nearest challengers.
