Division 5 leaders will lose top spot this week

Veterans League

Preview of the Tuesday fixtures in Divisions 3, 4 & 5 of the Veterans 10-Man League

The most attractive-looking fixture in the Division 3 programme this week is the top v third meeting of New Mill A and Brockholes A. The Brockholes side has won one more match than their opponents but are 3 points behind them in the table. Second-placed Golcar Lib B are well placed to take advantage of any slip-up by the leaders but will have to be on their toes when going to play at Lindley Lib B.

Linthwaite Hall are very much in the promotion picture and have the easiest-looking game of the Tuesday programme when visiting an unpredictable Paddock I&C team who have home advantage but have dropped into the relegation places. Slaithwaite and Skel Windmill are two in-form teams and Slaithwaite sit sixth but are only 8 points behind the leaders with a home match this week against Skel Windmill A who have won both of their last two matches.

Kirkheaton Con B will be looking for a positive reaction to last week's first Division 4 defeat of the season when they host lowly David Brown Sports. They now find themselves two places and 5 points behind RUBC who are away at Ravensknowle Park. Marsh Lib are now featuring strongly in second place after beating the bottom three teams in their last three fixtures.

Meltham B haven't won away from home this season which gives some hope to their Tuesday hosts, Lockwood Con B, who really do need the tonic of a good win if they are to move away from the drop zone anytime soon.

The Division 5 leaders, Netherton Con B don't have a game this week with their away match at Kirkheaton C&BC B rescheduled for Tuesday 23 June. That means they will probably lose their position at the top this Tuesday with three teams lined up behind them all within range of overtaking them. Lindley BC B are the closest rivals on three points behind the leaders and a home match against Greenhead Park lined up this week.

Broad Oak B and Primrose Hill Lib are also in the frame and it is feasible that all three could overtake the leaders. Primrose Hill Lib are the Division's form team, having beaten Netherton Con B and Broad Oak B in their last two matches and a very winnable home match against mid-table Marsh Lib B on Tuesday.
