Review of the results from the Divisions 2 played on Tuesday 28 October

Week 1 of the Division 2 season and the two Lowerhouses teams lead the way level on points. The Lowerhouses B team are only playing in Division 2 as Denby Dale declined promotion and suffered a 10-point penalty as a result. That resulted in the Lowerhouses team being offered promotion which they quickly accepted and a 6-2 opening day victory sees them feature at the top of the initial table. I didn't see that coming so very well done to the Lowerhouses B team and I hope that you continue to surprise all of us.

On a day when the wind was very strong and an intermittent shower or two reminded the bowlers that they were on high ground and there was no cover on the green from the strong winds. At the end of the day the two Lowerhouses' team sit together in top place along with Clayton West also on 6 points after beating Lindley Lib A. The Lowerhouses B team beat the relegated team Meltham A whilst the Lowerhouses A side also collected 6 points from their match against Marsh United A. A drawn aggregate score of 53-53 saw Milnsbridge A beat promoted team New Mill B by the rare 5-3 scoreline to leave both teams sitting in mid-table.
