John Hoyle Trophy goes West
Veterans League
The Veterans League John Hoyle Trophy was won by Clayton West captain, Tim Poulter, on Friday when he beat Kirkheaton Con captain, Garry Senior, in a close final. Garry is also the greenkeeper on the Moldgreen Con home surface where this competition takes place. Held annually in memory of the former Veterans League General Secretary and Moldgreen Con stalwart. This time it was the Clayton West man who ran out a 21-19 victor.
Now played over two days with 24 entries this competition is sponsored by John Hoyle's family and raises money for Kirkwood Hospice in John's memory. Originally started as a competition for Inter-District League members, it has more recently opened up to a wider entry.
