Winter League
With the passing of John Inman the Dalton Winter League team found themselves short of a key team member and with little hope of being able to attract new team members they withdrew from the League. Two weeks later they are back in the fold as notice of the team's demise stirred some other club members to come forward and offer their assistance. They are now back up to the recognised minimum number of six bowlers and are back in the League. Their return is especially welcome as they are a founder member of the Winter League and have played in all previous 5 seasons of the League's existence.
They ended last season in the Division 4 relegation places so they will start the new season in Division 5 playing at Lindley Lib on Wednesdays. Rastrick tried similarly to revive interest in reforming and re-entering the League but failed to attract sufficient interest to secure an extension to the Winter League history.
With that vacancy appearing along with eight new teams required for the new Division 9 that makes a total of nine new teams for the 2025-26 season. All nine places have now been taken by teams new to the League they being Brockholes C, Kirkheaton Con C, Kirkheaton C&BC C, Almondbury BC C, Hemplow, Greenhead Park, Mirfield C, Mirfield Old Bank and Marsh Lib B.
Work has begun on setting up the Bowlsnet system for the new season and the format of the teams in each of the 9 Divisions will be shared with teams at the League AGM on Friday 1 August.
