Bowling News

Coming up this week on your website

Portal News:

Another packed week of Huddersfield bowling news lined up with new postings every day of the week.

All the local leagues are waiting to hear of the Government's Road Map to Normality before deciding when their teams can start the 2021 season. We could end up with AGMs being staged in mid-season; shortened fixture programmes; reduced divisions - all is up in the air. We really need that guidance from Boris now so we can plan and prepare for a proper bowling season. We continue the build-up to the announcement expected next Monday (22nd).

Still no bowling in sight so we continue to run around trying to find something of interest to post on the website every day. You can help on that front by providing photographs of your club as it is now and teams from the past as well. Tell us a story about your club, some time in history when major things happened in your club so that we can share them with the local bowling community. Tell Us

As well as that we expect to be posting other news every day of the week which will also include ....

  • We continue the build-up to the 22 February announcement of the Road Map that will take us out of lockdown and back to normality

  • A new 'Name the Foreign Green' competition starting today and yet another one will open up on Wednesday featuring greens just outside the town boundaries

  • Winter League: more thoughts on what Season 2 could look like

  • All Our Yesterdays - our feature postings look back at more times in the recent and further back past

  • Results of a national survey undertaken by Bowls England survey on the state of readiness of bowlers returning to action or not

  • ... and probably lots more news we are still to learn about some of which might even come from you. Tell us your club news.
