Coach Bowls Announces the Return of the Coaching Awards for 2021
Coach Bowls are delighted to announce the return of the Coaching Awards after a short break through the pandemic. After such a difficult year, this is the best time to say thank you to our coaches! You are now invited to nominate a coach for an award in 2021 and a nomination form is included at the foot of this posting. Coaches can be crown green or flat green.
Coach Bowls is a spin-off of the BCGBA and Bowls England. Coaches must be a current member of Coach Bowls to be nominated. We welcome nominations from clubs, other coaches, bowlers and counties. Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Coach of the Year
This will be based on nominations from any coach, club, county or individual bowler in England. Coaches nominated must be a Coach Bowls member, be actively coaching (at least once per month) within their club or county and have their nomination accompanied by a maximum of 3 paragraphs on why they have been nominated. The nominations will be shortlisted by a panel and the final 3 coaches will go forward to a public vote.
Young Coach of the Year
This coach must be aged between 16 and 25 (as of 1st January 2021). It will be based on nominations from any coach, club, county or individual bowler in England. Coaches nominated must be a Coach Bowls member, be actively coaching (at least once per month) within their club or county and have their nomination accompanied by a maximum of 3 paragraphs on why they have been nominated. The nominations will be shortlisted by a panel and the final 3 coaches will go forward to a public vote.
Grass-roots Coach of the Year
This award will be based on nominations from any coach, club, county or individual bowler in England. Coaches nominated must be a Coach Bowls member, be actively coaching new and beginner bowlers (at least once per month) within their club and have their nomination accompanied by a maximum of 3 paragraphs on why they have been nominated. The nominations will be shortlisted by a panel and the final 3 coaches will go forward to a public vote.
Inclusive Coach of the Year
This will be based on nominations from any coach, club, county or individual bowler in England. Coaches nominated must be a Coach Bowls member, be actively coaching inclusive groups and / or members (at least once per month) within their club or county and have their nomination accompanied by a maximum of 3 paragraphs on why they have been nominated. The nominations will be shortlisted by a panel (which will include Disability Bowls England) and the final 3 coaches will go forward to a public vote.
New Coach of the Year
This will be based on nominations from any coach, club, county or individual bowler in England. Coaches nominated must be a Coach Bowls member who qualified after 31st December 2019, be actively coaching (at least once per month) within their club or county and have their nomination accompanied by a maximum of 3 paragraphs on why they have been nominated. The nominations will be shortlisted by a panel and the final 3 coaches will go forward to a public vote.
