A review of the 10-Man League Divisions 1 & 2 results from Tuesday 11 April
Division 1 Champions, Golcar Lib 'A', surprisingly lost their first home match of the season going down 4-5 to Marsh United 'A' on Tuesday. With a 19 aggregate advantage to scoop the match the Marsh team were playing their first fixture of the season and that will send shockwaves to other teams in the top flight.
Meanwhile Lockwood Con made it two wins out of two matches when inflicting a second defeat on promoted Lowerhouses with a 6-3 scoreline to send them clear at the top and two points ahead of Longwood who had a great 7-2 away win at Clayton West.
As well as Marsh United 'A' clocking up their first match win on Tuesday three other teams were also recording their first wins of the season with Meltham emphatically running up a great 9-0 home win over Milnsbridge 'A' and Rastrick and Kirkheaton Con 'A' also having home wins.
The two teams relegated into Division 2 for this season both continue to show the difference in class when both recorded second wins. The two Lindley teams go clear at the top with Netherton Con 'A' also having 2 wins from 2 matches to date. The Netherton Con 'A' team were pushed all the way by Hemplow 'A' with only a 2-point aggregate gap (117-115) seeing them take a 5-4 home win.
Lindley Lib 'A' took over top spot after an 8-1 home win over Thongsbridge 'A' leaving Lindley BC 'A' one point behind them despite clocking up the division's only away win of the day, 5-4 at Shepley. Thorpe Green bounced back after an opening day 1-8 loss to take 7 points from their fixture with Holmfirth 'A' who remain searching for their first win of the new campaign.
Home wins for New Mill 'A' (6-3 v Bradley & Colne) and Broad Oak 'A' (7-2 v Linthwaite Hall) tidied up proceedings which left four teams waiting for their first wins of the campaign and just three teams with 100% win records to date.
