Veterans League
On Tuesday afternoon in glorious sunshine on Moldgreen Conservative Club Green GEORGE NASH who turned 100 years of age on the 12th April was the guest of honour and before bowling the afternoon's opening jack was presented with a certificate to mark the occasion, from Huddersfield Veterans Bowling Association by Richard Armitage.
Both Huddersfield Rec and Almondbury Lib players and a few old friends of George gave a generous round of applause before tucking into a rather delicious Birthday cake.
George was born on 12th April 1923
He has 2 daughters
He was an electrical engineer with the Electricity Board for 45 years.
Settled in Huddersfield in 1965
A member of Fixby Golf Club for many years
When he retired in 1984 he took up bowling for ICI through to Canalside and was a member of the 6 man team that won the Julie Fuller Trophy.
He still plays Bridge at Huddersfield Bridge Club
