Preview of the 10-Man League Divisions 1 & 2 fixtures for 6 June
Big test for the Division 1 table leaders this Tuesday when Golcar Lib 'A' go to play a Lowerhouses team thriving in the intense competition of the top division. With a home green with more dips than an ice-cream man proving to be a real challenge to visiting sides. However, with the cushion of a 15-points lead the visitors will be confident of picking up enough points to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
With their two main rivals also having away matches it is difficult to see any threat to the leaders emerging this week. Second-placed Cowcliffe go to Milnsbridge who have only won one match to date and are desperate to begin narrowing the gap to safety as they are already 12-points adrift. Rastrick are on the same 44 points mark along with Cowcliffe but have to go to Lockwood Con 'A' this week although their home record is not the force it used to be.
Marsh United will be looking to get their title hopes back on track after successive defeats and have home advantage over Elland C&BC who are still looking for their first away win of the season. Clayton West find themselves in unfamiliar territory in the second relegation place but may not escape that position this week as they go to Meltham who have a strong home record. Waterloo will be looking to get back to winning ways with a home match against a Longwood side that has a mixed record to date with some big scalps but other missed opportunities as well.
Having beaten the Division 2 leaders, Lindley Lib 'A', last week, Netherton Con 'A' will aiming to build on that win when they travel to Thorpe Green this Tuesday. Whereas the leaders will be intent on returning to winning form with a comfortable-looking home fixture against New Mill 'A'. Third-placed Lindley BC 'A' have win their last four matches by the same 6-3 scoreline and would settle for more of the same when they go to play Thongsbridge 'A' this week.
Hemplow 'A' will be looking for a second win of the 2023 season when they have home advantage over fellow-strugglers Linthwaite Hall as this presents an opportunity for the winners to put daylight between themselves and the relegation places. This being currently occupied by Holmfirth 'A' and Bradley & Colne who both have difficult-looking fixtures against top half teams. Almondbury BC 'A' ended a run of five straight 6-3 wins last week and can expect to return to winning ways when lowly Bradley & Colne come to visit whilst Holmfirth 'A' have fourth-placed Shepley as their guests this week.
