Winter League
A preview of the Division 3 and 4 fixtures for Monday 28 November
The Division 3 fixture list for this Monday is the reverse of the opening day programme when Brockholes 'A' lost 3-5 to Dalton and that has been their only defeat this season. Fortunes have differed since that opening-day in October and Brockholes have since created a 7-point lead at the top so will be keen to preserve that by beating a team now 14-points behind them in the table.
Huddersfield Recreation Club 'A' lost last week 2-6 to Dalton. Why are Dalton mid-table when they have already beaten the top two teams in the Division? The Recreation Club will be aiming to get back on winning ways when they take on bottom-of-the-table Almondbury BC 'A' this Monday.
Meanwhile Rastrick 'B' will want to push towards that second promotion spot when they meet up again with Thorpe Green 'B' who they drew 4-4 with on the first day of the season. Springwood 'B' v Paddock I&C 'A' completes Monday's programme with both teams fighting to avoid the second relegation place.
Division 4 leaders Lindley Lib 'B' lost for the first time this season last week when going down 2-6 to Lowerhouses 'B'. They will be looking for a quick return to winning ways when they take on Kirkheaton C&BC on the Lindley Lib green this Monday. Second placed Milnsbridge 'B' are on a run of four straight wins and will aim to extend that when they play Paddock I&C 'B' this week.
The bottom two teams meet up with identical Won-1 Lost-4 Drawn-1 records but with 5-points between them as Netherton Con 'A' will hope to retain if not widen that gap over Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B'. However the Recreation Club team will turn up in fine fettle having won for the first time last week.
Marsh Lib versus Lowerhouses 'B' completes the day's fixture programme. Marsh Lib haven't won any of their last four matches having set off really well with two big wins to raise hopes of a strong initial season in the League. The Lowerhouses side will turn up full of confidence with good reason having been the first team to beat Lindley Lib 'B' last week and ready for more of the same.
