A review of the Division 3 and Division 4 matches played on 5 December
All 8 League matches played on Monday finished with the same 6-2 scoreline but not all of them went the way expected. Division 3 leaders, Brockholes 'A' have finally been nudged off the top spot after losing for the 3rd consecutive Monday this time to Rastrick 'B'.
That presented Huddersfield Recreation Club 'A' with the opening to take over at the top which they duly did by beating Paddock I&C 'A' and take a 3-point lead. That could all change again next week when the top two go head-to-head when another defeat for Brockholes could see them drop out of the promotion race altogether.
The battle at the bottom saw Almondbury BC 'A' come out on top when confining Springwood 'B' to bottom place although the winners still remain 8 points away from safety. The mid-table confrontation between Dalton and Thorpe Green 'B' saw the Thorpe Green team overtake their rivals in the table to go fourth.
Milnsbridge 'B' were knocked off the top of the Division 4 table after just one week's residence there with Lindley Lib 'B' regaining the lead after a top two coming together. In fact Milnsbridge dropped to third place as Kirkheaton C&BC, victors over Paddock I&C 'B', also passed them to return to the second promotion place. This tussle at the top seems to be far from over and the last day of the season meeting of the current top two already has the makings of a title decider. There, that's probably put the mockers on that!
Netherton Con 'A' made it three games unbeaten after seeing off Marsh Lib and moving out of the relegation places as a result dropping Paddock I&C 'B' into that drop zone. Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' remain bottom after going down to Lowerhouses 'B' who still have hopes of mounting a push for promotion after a third win in their last four fixtures.
