Born to Bowl

I am grateful to Richard Armitage for a photograph of himself in 1948 aged 3. No disrespect Richard but the interesting element of this photo being the location - the ICI back bowling green. Can you remember it looking like that?

Richard assumes that this must have been his first introduction to a bowling green although he has no recollection of it. Neither has he, or his family, any recollection of the other people in the photograph either.
