Veterans League
It is the 2nd Round of the Veterans League Bistro KO this Thursday with 16 teams left in contention. This is one of 11 team and individual competitions being held this year in the Veterans League.
The 2021 winners were Marsh United and they continue the defence of the title against Division 3 leaders Linthwaite Hall on the Huddersfield RUBC green. Five pairs is the format with the aggregate score determining the winners with handicaps based on teams finishing positions last season. In the event of a tie, the team with the most winners will progress to the next round.
Nine of the 13 Division 1 teams have made it this far and amazingly there is no all-Division 1 clash so plenty of giant-killing openings in this unique format competition. The two Division 1 teams that look most vulnerable are Lindley Lib 'A' and Longwood. Both are in the bottom 3 of Division 1 and both play opponents from the top 3 of Division 2 - Bradley & Colne and Almondbury BC 'A'. Watch this space.
