The opening round of the BCGBA Ladies Senior County Championship was played yesterday with the all-Yorkshire meeting of the representative teams from South Yorkshire and Yorkshire going the way in emphatic style to Yorkshire. A 473-334 aggregate score sealing a 2-0 win for the Yorkshire side containing a number of Huddersfield bowlers.
Winning 11 of the 12 games in the home leg played at Lockwood Cons to set a target that no team can expect to recover from and so it proved. The away side winning 7 of the 12 games to ensure a massive opening win and secure the 2 points available for winning the match.
