A campaign led by Bowls England to encourage new bowlers to try our sport out is leading up to its climax over the coming Spring Bank Holiday weekend.
'Big Bowls Weekend' is being staged over the 28-31 May weekend and a lot of advertising material is available to any club signing up to the scheme. There is also an online facility for people to identify the club nearest to their home where they can go and participate in Lawn and Crown Green bowling maybe for the first time.
With over 650 clubs already listed, it provides a useful guide to any prospective bowler looking to try out the game. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any clubs in the Huddersfield area that are participating in the scheme at present. There is still time for your club to become the only one in Huddersfield opening their facilities to new members over that weekend.
Try it out and then think about signing up and involving your club in this nationwide campaign to promote bowling. Details
