Review of the Divisions 1&2 results from matches played on Tuesday 12 May

The two Elland teams were promoted to Division 1 this season and both had made good starts to their seasons until Tuesday when both lost their home matches. Elland C&BC losing unsurprisingly to the table-toppers and reigning Champions, Lowerhouses, and then the Elland WMC team losing very surprisingly at home 1-8 to Lindley Lib A.

Clayton West continue to go hunting for their first win of the season after losing at Cowcliffe 3-6 which pushes the winners out of the relegation places only to be replaced by Lockwood Con A who lost 2-7 at Kirkheaton Con A which pushes them up into second place but five points behind the leaders.

Longwood have got over their defeat to the leaders with a 6-3 home win over Rastrick and Golcar Lib A were also in recovery when claiming a first away win at Marsh United A which turned out to be the tightest aggregate scoreline of 116-114.

The top two teams in Division 2 both lost for the first time this season and as a consequence, both drop out of the promotion places. The previous leaders, Meltham, suffering a shock defeat away to bottom of the pile Shepley who collected their first win of 2026. That saw the Meltham side drop two places to third whilst Lindley BC A dropped three places to 5th after losing heavily 1-8 at Waterloo who go second as a result.

That first win for Shepley lifted them out of the relegation places to be replaced by Hemplow A who went down 2-7 at Denby Dale. Broad Oak A stay bottom after 1-8 scoreline loss at home to a Netherton Con A side who sit proudly at the head of this week's Division 2 table. The Almondbury derby match went the way of the visiting Liberal Club team with a 6-3 win which lifts them above their Tuesday opponents Almondbury BC A. A 6-3 win for Thongsbridge A at home to Milnsbridge A ensured the home team stayed ahead of their rivals in the revised table.
