League News
Just as a diversion I looked at what the League Tables would look like if an alternative scoring system was to be introduced. So for example if the Veterans League decided to have a table decided by Aggregate For totals, just as the Heavy Woollen League do now, what difference would it make to the end of season positions.
So in this first example I have applied that format to the 2022 end-of-season totals in the Veterans 6-Man League and the outcome is shown below alongside the traditional Points system. The left-hand column in red shows the positions after reverting to an Aggregate For format.
In all three divisions there is no change in positions at the top or bottom of the tables but elsewhere there are significant changes. So the teams that actually finished 2nd in all 3 divisions under the points system all lose their places (and promotions for two of them) under this alternative scoring system.
We are not advocating any change but this is just for interest and for some teams to see what might have been.
I will do the same exercise to the Veterans 10-Man League and report back to you shortly.
