6-Man top 3 play away this week

Veterans League

There are just 3 points between the top three teams in Division 1 and all have away matches this coming week and two of those look particularly difficult. Leaders Shepley has the easiest task on paper as they go to Lockwood Con who are desperate to stay out of the relegation drop zone. Honley Con and Golcar C&BC have to take on 5th placed Crosland Moor, who have a 5-0 win home record, and 4th placed Netherton Con respectively.

Lindley Lib 'A' could do with picking up some points at Milnsbridge to push them closer to safety. Longwood and Thongsbridge 'B' meet up with the loser being drawn back into the relegation fight.

With the top team in Division 2 Marsh United 'A' having a bye-week it leaves the door open for second-placed Slaithwaite to narrow the gate whilst a whitewash win at 4th-placed Clayton West would take them clear at the top. A great incentive but the West's unbeaten home record makes that outcome very unlikely.

A bad week for Skel Windmill 'B' last week who dropped to the foot of the table so they will be aiming for a quick return to more solid ground. It is very tight at the foot of the table with four of the bottom five teams meeting each other. New Mill (6th) have home advantage over Meltham (9th) and Lindley Lib 'B' (7th) are at home to Paddock I&C (8th) with just 4 points between those four teams.

Marsh Lib are in third place in Division 3 and are level on points with second-placed Almondbury Lib and this Monday have unbeaten leaders, Golcar Lib, as visitors. Meanwhile Almondbury Lib are wedged between both of those sides in second place and have to travel to play Shepley 'B' this week. The teams in 4th and 5th positions meet with Hemplow entertaining Primrose Hill Lib but the right result could shoot them right into the promotion battle.

Brockholes 'B' are still looking for their first win of the season and this week welcome a Greenhead Park team desperate to inch clear of the bottom half of the table. Marsh United 'B' hope to cash in their first away win of the season when they go to play Thongsbridge 'B' this week and could even switch places with them with the right result.
