Big wins in Division 1 this week for Shepley 'A' and Honley Con enabled them to stretch their dominance in the table further. Honley Con recorded a 7-0 away win at Lindley Lib 'A' but I still don't understand why one of these teams is allowed to play bowlers who have played more than 50% of their 10-Man League team's fixtures whilst the other one cannot. That win means that Honley are now 4 points behind the leaders, Shepley 'A' who logged a 6-1 away win at third-placed Golcar C&BC. A big setback for the Golcar team's ambitions with Netherton Con closing in on them as well after a 5-2 home win over Milnsbridge means they are now only 3 points behind them on the same number of games.
Lockwood Con claimed their 5th win in their last 7 fixtures to finally put any doubt about their continuing involvement at the top level to bed. A 5-2 home win over Brockholes 'A' with a 5-chalk aggregate win (84-79) clinching the points. A good day for Longwood as well in a 6-1 home victory over Crosland Moor securing their Division 1 place for next year.
Three of the four Division 2 fixtures finished in 7-0 wins for the home teams with the leaders, Marsh United 'A' being one of those as they overwhelmed Meltham. Holmfirth 'A' were also whitewash winners, this time over Paddock I&C which saw them overtake Clayton West and Slaithwaite to go third.
Slaithwaite were on the wrong end of a 7-0 scoreline although once again they were only able to field four bowlers and a third successive defeat became inevitable with New Mill the benefactors who are now out of the relegation places. Worrying times for Slaithwaite who seem to be in freefall and a continuation of those results could still see them in danger of relegation.
Division 3 leaders Golcar Lib had a bye week allowing Almondbury Lib to narrow the gap to 7 points when winning for the 4th successive match when beating bottom-of-the-table Brockholes 'B' 5-2 and at the same time they passed Hemplow who went down 2-5 at Marsh Lib. Regulation wins for Thongsbridge 'A', Primrose Hill Lib and Holmfirth 'B' preserve their mid-table positions with the bottom four teams all losing this week.
