Preview of the 6-Man League fixtures for Monday 14 September

It is possible that the bottom two teams in Division 1 could both be relegated this week. Thongsbridge A and Skel Windmill are on the border line for the drop with two matches still to be played. Both have home games which may be their saving or delaying grace this week. With the decision taken out of their hands, both teams are very dependent on third from bottom, Lindley Lib A, getting beat by the Division toppers Clayton West. Although the bottom two are both at home they have difficult looking opponents lined up. The problem is for any bottom two teams that every match looks difficult as all their opponents are already above them.

Clayton West could also be the 2026 Division 1 Champions this week. If they win their home match against lowly Lindley Lib A by 7-0 (quite possible) and Marsh United A don't get at least 6 points from their away match at Netherton Con A then the West cannot be caught in the final round of fixtures for the season.

The threat of relegation could grow even stronger if Brockholes B and Denby Dale don't win their Division 2 away matches at Longwood and Lockwood Con respectively this Monday. However they are still dependent on Milnsbridge B losing both their remaining matches the first of which is on Monday at home to promotion-chasers New Mill A.

Brockholes A have already secured an immediate return to Division 1 and will clinch the title if they win their Monday home match versus Golcar Lib A by 5-2 or better.

The top two teams in Division 3 clash this week with Thongsbridge B already crowned as the Champions. They travel to play Golcar Lib B who just need to better the Monday result of third-placed Crosland Moor to secure the second promotion place with one week still to go.

Things remain very tight at the bottom of the table with the bottom two teams needing points to stave off the threat of relegation being confirmed this week. Elland C&BC are at Primrose Hill Lib and bottom team Greenhead Park A really must win their home fixture against Clayton West B to have a chance of a final day escape.

Hemplow B need at least a 6-1 win to secure their promotion from Division 4 this week whilst the title race is likely to run another week. Netherton Con B team promotion hopes rely on New Mill B beating Meltham to ease their last day task. They can contribute to their target of 8 points from their last two fixtures to clinch promotion with a good away win at Marsh United B this week.

The Monday meeting of Shepley B versus Brockholes D is likely to resolve the wooden spoon issue at the foot of the table. Brockholes D need at least three points from this match to have any chance of a final day escape from ending in bottom spot.
