Winter Cup Finals Day line-up

Winter League

All 16 qualifiers turned up for the Winter Cup Round of the Last 16 on Sunday and the list below reveals how tight many of the matches were. Proceedings started with a minutes silence in memory of Eddie Haigh who passed away last Sunday.

I should have been on duty on Sunday at Netherton Con but a battery problem with my car put a stop to that. With Bob Haigh already away climbing mountains somewhere Welsh it was left to John Pix to manage the running of the Round of the Last 16.

I hope to be at Netherton Con next Sunday (car willing) for Finals Day with the Quarter-Finals draw now known and included below. We will be playing right through to the final and a new name on the trophy. Last year the latter stages of the competition were dominated by lady bowlers but no repeat this year with an all-male Round of the Last 16.

All bowlers are reminded that the BCGBA dress code of collared shirts and black trousers applies.
