Club News
One of the few competitions that exists to raise funds for a charity is the Weston Park Trophy. It is held annually in memory of Paul Sykes at Brockholes BC and is organised by Paul's son Liam. All the Sykes family are involved in the day which attracts many of the top bowlers as the recognised opening competition of the bowling season.
Can anyone stop Paul Dudley collecting a third successive title? The last two years Paul Dudley has beat Jack Dyson in the Final of this competition and Paul will be looking to make that an unrivalled hat-trick of wins in 2024 as well.
With more than 4 months to go before the competition takes place the doors are now open for entries. Four qualifying rounds will take place over the last weekend in March 2024 with the last four bowlers in each, all qualifying for Finals Day on the first Saturday in April.
The Weston Park Cancer Care Centre in Sheffield provides world-leading cancer treatment delivered by some of the most highly regarded cancer specialists in Europe. Donations are an important factor in them being able to provide the support services to patients and their families. All money made from the competition goes directly to the Weston Park Cancer Charity.
