We did have some bowling this week

Winter League

Review of the Division 4 matches played at Primrose Hill Lib on Monday 5 January

The only bowling played in the Winter League this week so far was at Primrose Hill Lib on Monday with a full Division 4 programme of fixtures. The four 'home' teams all won by the same 6-2 scoreline which saw the leaders, Primrose Hill Lib, maintain their 4-points lead after beating Milnsbridge B who drop a place to fourth position. Elland WMC remain 4 points behind the leaders after collecting a 6-2 win over Linthwaite Hall A and Netherton Con A moved up a place to 3rd after beating Lindley Lib C who were left sharing bottom spot with Huddersfield Recreation Club A on the same 27 points total.

Brockholes A made their position a little safer after beating the Recreation Club 6-2 and extended the gap between the bottom pair from 3 to 7 points. There was one meeting in that match which hinted at revenge with the Brockholes pair of Dave Barr and Micky Bell coming up against Trevor Atkinson and Mike Hollingdrake. This being a rematch of the opening round of the Division 4 Pairs KO Qualifying Round played at Thorpe Green last Friday. That saw the Recreation Club pairing come narrowly out on top 12-11 after 15 ends so that they progressed to the next stage of a competition that took them all the way to the Final last season. Totally different outcome this time around as the Brockholes pair ran out 21-8 victors to avenge the Friday defeat. What a difference three days make.
