Veterans Inter-District season starts up

The Inter-District season this Friday for the Yorkshire Veterans League when the Huddersfield team play the 2023 Champions Leeds.

A very disappointing 5th place finish for our side was the lowest final position for many years and some new faces have been added to both the home and away teams for the 2025 season.

Frank Greenwood will step down as the home team non-playing captain after this final match and a new captain is expected to be named from the team numbers after the match. The home team is Andy Carter, John Bloomer, Tony Cross, Mick Chapman, Robert Dickinson, Graham Sigsworth, Andy Wike and Ray Whitwam.

The away team will play at Thorner BC (LS14 3DX) and will be selected from the following squad members:

Malcolm Gilbert (captain), Dave Pollard, Roger Stopford, Tim Poulter, Edwin Haigh, Garry Senior, Adrian Cooper, Derreck Hewitt, Peter Hopkinson, Steve Mallinson and Dave Sykes.
