Two ways of looking at this

Winter League
Preview of Division 1 matches to be played on Wednesday 3 November

There are two ways of looking at how Lower Hopton have charged to the top of the Division 1 league table in their first season in the League. You could say that they are top because they have played the three teams that occupy the three bottom places in the table. Alternatively, you could say that the three opponents are in the bottom three places because they have played Lower Hopton. Are they really the big fish in this pond?
That discussion with yourself could continue a little longer and in a similar vein as Lower Hopton play the fourth from bottom team this Wednesday when they take on Lindley BC 'A'. Obviously over the course of a season these things even themselves out but it wouldn't surprise too many people to see the results continue to go the way of the leaders. Even taking 2 points off Lower Hopton would be an achievement at present and it will be interesting to see which team is up to that task.

Second in the table, Kirkheaton Con, know that on current form, anything less than an 8-0 win is likely to see the gap widen between themselves and the leaders and that will be no easy target as they face the host team from Milnsbridge 'A' this Wednesday. Rastrick 'A' are the only Division 1 team without a win to their credit this season and this week they face the New Millers who despite winning two of their three matches to date still reside in the bottom three. This week presents them with an opportunity to improve on their standing with the two teams immediately above them playing the top two.
On current form you would expect Clayton West to edge the advantage over Lowerhouses 'A' who haven't won since the opening day of the season but they have been a little unlucky in a couple of those outcomes so a close encounter is expected. All four matches will run concurrently from 12noon on Wednesday on the Milnsbridge BC green and all spectators are welcome with refreshments available to all.

Although it’s very early in the season the conclusion I come to with Lower Horton being at the top of the table is that they have very good bowlers. Looking at the averages shows that their 2 singles bowlers occupy the top two places and their pairs team are also top of the pairs averages.
