Preview of the Division 1 & 2 matchday fixtures for Wednesday 22 November
Clayton West will be frustrated by having no match this Wednesday and may have their lead at the top of the Division 1 table taken away from them. Thorpe Green are best placed to take advantage of the leader's bye week but they have to confront Golcar Lib who seem to eventually be coming to terms with winter bowling after their first win of the season last week.
New Mill A remain well placed and will fancy their chances against Lindley BC A and a win will at least place them second in the table.
Lower Hopton will be looking to continue their return to winning ways by beating Meltham who are looking for their first win of the season as are Kirkheaton Con A who have to play Lowerhouses A this Wednesday.
Cowcliffe will expect to extend their lead at the top of the Division 2 table when taking on Brockholes A this week. With four straight wins behind them the new team to the League have already accumulated a 10-points lead at the top and with second-placed Milnsbridge A without a match this week will expect to extend that even further.
Team-raising problems have hindered the Denby Dale side from returning to mid-table security which they have attained each season to date and they are still looking for their first win of the season. This Wednesday they take on Lockwood Con A whilst the five teams immediately above them are all on the same 12-points total and in competition at both ends of the table.
Two of those teams face each other this week and the outcome of the Lindley Lib A v Huddersfield Recreation Club A meeting could determine which end of the table they are going to be featuring in for the rest of the season. Only two points separate Springwood A in 3rd place and Lindley BC B in 8th position as they meet up this week so a massive move up or down is possible.
