A 7-2 home win for Elland WMC over Slaithwaite wasn't the end of the good news for them as their two main rivals for the Division 3 title both faltered in this weeks fixtures. The leaders Denby Dale completed a 5-4 home win over relegation threatened Springwood as third-placed Brockholes A went down 4-5 away at Holmfirth A. No change in the running order but the gap between the top two has been reduced to two points.
The four points that Springwood collected enabled them to move out of the relegation places to be replaced by Hemplow A who were beaten 2-7 by a Thorpe Green team winning for the first time this season although they remain bottom for now.
Third-placed Outlane dropped a place after going down 2-7 away at Paddock I&C allowing Lindley Lib B to pass them after a 6-3 home win over Skel Windmill.
It was a good day for the Division 4 leaders, Kirkheaton C&BC A, as they completed a 7-2 home win over third-placed Milnsbridge B to widen their lead over the second-placed team who are now Lockwood Con B after their 7-2 away success at Lindley BC B. That defeat means that the Lindley side are still in search of their first win of the season.
Marsh United B were second but having no match this week has left them in 6th position. Ravensknowle Park and the Rugby Club both passed them after good home wins. The Park clocked up 8 points from their fixture with Marsh Lib which was a surprise after Marsh Lib beat the table toppers last week. The Rugby Club hit seven against Meltham B who cannot find an away win from anywhere.
Brockholes B remain very much in the relegation battle after going down 3-4 at home to Huddersfield Recreation Club who made it three wins out of three.
Division 5 leaders Netherton Con B made it 7 wins out of 7 when destroying Hemplow B's unbeaten home record with a 6-3 scoreline. That wasn't sufficient to improve their points lead at the top as the next three chasers all won. David Brown Sports closed the gap to 6 points after a 7-2 home win over New Mill B and Dalton and Kirkheaton Con B both recorded wins. Dalton were pushed all the way at bottom-of-the-table Broad Oak B with a drawn aggregate score of 106-106 saw Dalton edge the points 5-4. Kirkheaton Con B completed a 6-3 home win over Greenhead Park.
Greenhead Park are in a bottom four who are all on the same points total with Broad Oak B who lifted themselves off the bottom and move up four places after collecting 4 points from their Tuesday fixture. Holmfirth B and Almondbury BC B are in that bottom four after both lost 2-7 this week. Almondbury BC B going down at home to an improving Kirkheaton C&BC B team who have won three of their last matches which is bettered by Primrose Hill Lib who made it four wins on the bounce after seeing off Holmfirth B.
