Thongsbridge Super Cup Winners 2021

The 2021 National Team Super Cup 2021 Winners are Thongsbridge BC. The latest stages of the competition were played out yesterday and deep into the late evening Thongsbridge emerged as the winners.
The Team Super Cup may not be on the calendar of BCGBA events. but It's been run for a few years and has become quite a big event now and lots of the top teams enter every year. This year there were 64 from across the country and they play down to 8 for the final day. It's an 8 man team all playing 31 up and the highest aggregate wins. The rounds are played 4 at home and 4 away, with 2 on the green. Thongsbridge played three such rounds, the last being played against Broughton in North Wales, they have travelled as far as Barrow in previous years.
The final was a big event yesterday played at Owley Wood Recreation Club in Weaverham (Nr Northwich) in Cheshire, the quarter-finals started at 9.30am, concluded at about 2 pm. The semi's concluded at about 5 pm and the final in front of a raucous crowd at 7.30 pm. Thongsbridge beat Crossgates in the quarter-finals, the Grenville in the semi-finals and Littlemoor in the final. They were all tense affairs with the outcome only decided with the last couple of games on the green.
The Thongsbridge team for the final were Mark Booth (captain), Chris Kelly, Nick White, Andy Sorsby, Jimmy Davison, Jonathan Sneddon, Jack Dyson and Ashley Daykin.
