Club News Thongsbridge BC blowing their own trumpet and other brass instruments
When the Treasurer at Thongsbridge BC wanted the club to raise some much-needed money in 2019 for new schemes he came up with a novel idea which is still proving productive today.
He gave each of the team captains £10 and challenged them to turn that £10 into £100. The competition to raise the most money among the captains and teams was intense and a total of £2,200 was raised. The most successful of these schemes was one from the Veterans League team which raised the most money and scooped the prize on offer.
This initiative was the organising of a concert at the Holmfirth Civic Hall given by the Hade Edge Brass Band with the Huddersfield Choral Society Youth Choirs. Covid-19 has halted the repetition of that event since but the concert is to be held this year once again. The same venue on Saturday 21 May starting at 7.30pm with tickets now on sale as per the outlets stated in the poster below.
