Preview of matches to be played in Divisions 3, 4 & 5 on Tuesday 22 August

There is a Division 4 top-of-the-table clash as Lindley Lib 'B' have a 2-points lead over Springwood when the two teams meet this Tuesday. Both the top two will be keen to avoid a heavy defeat which could arouse the predator interest of Marsh Lib who have won 6 of their last 7 matches but are still 16-points adrift of the leading pair.

It is difficult to see any other threat coming from the chasing pack so the main interest is in the lower regions where there are 6 points separating the bottom 5 teams and the probability of three teams going down this season. Two of those 5 meet each other when the bottom team, Kirkheaton Con 'B', go to play Ravensknowle Park so an opportunity for one of them to improve their chances.

In Division 3 the leaders Golcar Lib 'B' are at home to mid-table Outlane and will be aiming to consolidate their 5 points lead over Almondbury Lib who are away at Lockwood Con 'B'. Denby Dale and Brockholes 'A' are in 3rd and 4th positions and they meet up with the Dale holding a 10-points lead over their opponents.

With the possibility of up to 4 teams being relegated this season the tension continues to mount between at least the bottom five in the table. Slaithwaite and Huddersfield Recreation Club are in that tangle of five and have to face each other this Tuesday. Neither team is in their best form of the season but the Recreation Club will remember their win when the two teams met earlier in the season.

The teams in 2nd and 3rd positions in the Division 5 table meet up this week with Brockholes 'B' hosting David Brown Sports with just 2 points between them so everything to play for. The Brockholes team lost last week to the leaders and that was a first defeat in 6 matches whilst their opponents have won their last four fixtures so things look fairly even on the form front.

Milnsbridge continue to set the pace at the top and travel to play lowly Kirkheaton C&BC 'B' and are unlikely to settle for anything less than a big win. If either Netherton Con 'B' or Broad Oak 'B' expect to launch a bid for promotion then they will need to do that at the expense of the other team when they meet each other this week. The Netherton side have only won one of their last 6 matches and will have to improve on that is they want to complete a double over their opponents having already won the away leg in May.
