With only 24 entries for this year's Enid Blackburn Memorial competition the Blackburn family have decided that this will be the last year that the competition will be held. The family have decided that the competition is no longer tenable with less than 32 bowlers. After 21 years and over £6,000 in sponsorship the competition has now run its course.

At least the final running resulted in an apt outcome with Andrea Buckley claiming the title for an 8th time after beating Linthwaite C&BC member Jasmine Gant 21-14 in the Final. After three ends Jasmine led 3-1 then Andrea produced a break of 14 before eventually winning 21-14.

After the presentation Enid's son, Howard, said that this would be the last time the competition would be held. Started in 2004 following the death of mum, Enid, the family had sponsored the event annually but in recent years the competition had struggled to attract the target of 32 bowlers. With what it lost in numbers the competition attracted in talent with 4 of the final 8 contenders being current Yorkshire bowlers.

Howard thanked Shirley Dillingham for her work in organising the competition and she was presented with a bouquet of flowers. The Dave Parkin grid below shows all the Finals Day results as the curtain comes down for the last time on another ladies' competition.
