League News

Happy days are here for Shepley as they have two teams in the 6-Man League and both currently sit at the top of their respective sections. The A team is top of Section A after beating Lindley Lib in their delayed reversed fixture on Friday. This week they host second-in-the-table Brockholes A and will expect to retain top spot for at least another week. Should that outcome be close then third-placed Crosland Moor will hope to profit from their home game against Paddock I&C sufficiently to move ahead of both teams. Two more Week 1 winners go head-to-head when Reigning Champions Netherton Con play at Thongsbridge B and with only 2 points separating the top 5 teams it promises to be a keen contest between all 5 teams for some while yet.
In Section B the focus will be on the match between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams as Meltham travel to play Marsh United. Skel Windmill have two teams in this section and both will be looking for their first wins of 2021 this week but the B team have to face the early leaders from Golcar LIb whilst their A team are at Clayton West.
In Week 1 of the fixture programme (last week) the four home teams in Section C all won their matches and as a result, now occupy the top four positions in the early league table. One of those four, second-placed Slaithwaite, has a bye this week so giving the early leader Shepley B the chance to put some daylight between themselves and the chasing pack. To do that they need to overcome Holmfirth B on their own green which will be no easy feat. The club's A team travel to play Marsh Lib whilst Thongsbridge A open their season with a trip to Hemplow.
