Review of the results from last Wednesday in Divisions 3 & 5

It may have been a set of season-defining results from Division 3 teams this week as some key ties didn't go as expected. One that did was the top two clash where the leaders, Slaithwaite saw off the challenge of Lindley Lib B with a 6-2 win to extend their lead at the top of the table to 6 points.
Dropping down the table where the bottom team, Lindley BC B, collected their first win of the season beating Thorpe Green C 6-2 and whilst they remain in bottom place the gap is greatly reduced after the two teams above them fought out a 4-4 draw leaving Lockwood Con A and Springwood A exactly where they were before the start of play in 6th and 7th positions.
Denby Dale leapfrogged Almondbury BC B after beating them 8-0 and continue their march up the table and having overcome their 10-point penalty The opposite is true of the Almondbury BC B team. After leading the table on Bonfire Night they have failed to win their last three matches to slip down the table and now sit 4th but still only 10-points behind the leaders.

DIVISION 5 MATCH REPORTS

Mirfield Old Bank bounced back after their first defeat of the Division 5 season last week in the best possible way by winning their next match 8-0. Paddock I&C were on the brunt end of that recovery and drop into bottom place as a result. Thorpe Green B vacated bottom spot after a 6-2 win over Kirkheaton C&BC A. That resulted shunted the Thorpe Green team up three places to 5th.
Mirfield A gave up top place they had held for just one week despite winning their match against Dalton 6-2. A difference of just 6 in the Aggregate For column (288-282) separating the two top teams for now. Jackson Bridge missed an opportunity to close the gap on the top two when surprisingly going down 2-6 to Milnsbridge C who moved up two places to 4th as a result.
