Review of the results from Monday's 6-Man League fixtures

Division 1 leaders, Clayton West, continue to set a hot pace at the top of the table with a latest result a 7-0 home win over Skel Windmill A. Marsh United A continue to hang on to the leader's coat-tails after a 6-1 home win over Waterloo on Monday and the top two are the only teams with 100% win records.
The bottom two, Shepley A and Thongsbridge A, both remain winless after this latest round of matches. Thongsbridge's 1-6 home defeat to Broad Oak saw the winners move into third position whilst Shepley were going down 89-91 to Slaithwaite. That wasn't the closest result of the day as Lindley Lib B edged it past Golcar C&BC with a 98-97 aggregate win.

The only unbeaten record in Division 2 belongs to Lockwood Con but that only gives them a one-point lead over Holmfirth A. A 6-1 home win for the Lockwood team over bottom of the pile, Longwood, saw them overtake New Mill A and Almondbury Lib. The New Mill A team was surprisingly beaten by a Denby Dale side claiming their first win of the season with a one-point aggregate win (93-92) and a 4-3 match score.
A 2-5 defeat at Brockholes A saw Almondbury Lib drop four places to sixth but with only four points separating the top six teams things are very tight at present. That win for Brockholes A only lifted them one place up the table to fourth position.

Hemplow A and Thongsbridge B have both won all three matches they have played this season but there are four points between them in the top two positions in Division 3. The Hemplow side had an emphatic 6-1 (98-59) home win over Golcar Lib leaving them with a record of the only team in the Division without a win under their belts so far this season.
Thongsbridge B hung on to second place after a 4-3 (80-79) away win over Crosland Moor and there were 2nd wins of the season for Primrose Hill Lib, Elland C&BC and Linthwaite Hall.

Hemplow B could only field 5 bowlers for their Division 4 trip to Meltham which contributed to their 0-7 defeat and a first win of the season for their hosts. That loss saw them plummet six places down the table and now eight points behind Thongsbridge C who continue to lead the title race with a 5-point gap over a pack of three teams on 14 points although they have played one more match than most of their opponents. Those three being the B teams from New Mill, Skel Windmill and Netherton Con who all won their matches this week.
New boys to the League, Brockholes D, are still coming to terms with weekly bowling having lost all three of their matches to date but they are at least consistent having lost each of those matches by the same 2-5 scoreline. Shepley B are struggling at present only collecting two points from their three fixtures whilst Holmfirth B are also in the lower regions of the table and despite only winning one of their three matches following their relegation from Division 3, only have a total of 8 points accrued at this time. Plenty of time for things to change which I am sure will for some.
