Review of the Division 1 matches played on Wednesday 3 February

The top of the Division 1 table clash may have ended up as a draw but that suited Thorpe Green more than it did Lower Hopton. The 9-points gap between the teams remains firm and looks increasingly likely that the Thorpe Green team will pip Lower Hopton to become the first team to make it a hat-trick of Division 1 Champion winners. Collecting 8 points from their final two fixtures will secure that hat-trick of consecutive titles and those two matches are against 2 of the bottom 3 teams in the table.
Cowcliffe A came back to form with a 6-2 win over Hanging Heaton A after three defeats on the bounce. After clocking up ten consecutive defeats, Golcar Lib have suddenly started winning with a 2nd consecutive win recorded this Wednesday when they beat Lindley BC A 6-2. No such luck for Kirkheaton Con A as they lost for the 10th time in 12 fixtures when going down 2-6 to New Mill A. Lindley BC A need two points from their final two matches to send Kirkheaton Con A to a first-ever relegation
