Review of the results of Divisions 4 & 10 fixtures played on Monday 9 February

The Division 4 season has finished as Elland WMC came through on the rails to pinch the title from Primrose Hill Lib. Or should that say that Primrose Hill Lib lost the title themselves. On a day when the bottom three teams all won their matches it was the Lindley Lib 6-2 win over Primrose Hill Lib that caught the eye. The win ensured that the Lindley team did not get caught in the relegation net but completely ended Primrose Hill Lib's hopes to walk away with the title. Congratulations to Elland WMC, the end of season position truly reflect the standings of all teams. A second consecutive promotion for the Elland team after finishing last season in the 2nd promotion place in Division 5. They continue on their way up.

That outcome also allowed the Lindley Lib team to walk clear of the relegation places and condemned Brockholes A and Huddersfield Recreation Club to the drop despite their last day victories. The Recreation Club beat Milnsbridge B 5-3 after drawing the Aggregate score 54-54 whilst Brockholes saw off Linthwaite Hall A 6-2 to no avail, with Lindley Lib's identical scoreline win ensuring that they avoided the drop.

DIVISION 10 RESULTS, TOP BOWLER, TABLE & MATCH REPORTS

Rastrick increased their lead over their only challenger for the Division 10 title when collecting an 8-0 triumph over Brockholes E. With Thongsbridge dropping two points to bottom team Holmfirth B means the gap, going into the final day of the season, is three points. With the two top teams facing each other in a final day decider, Thongsbridge now have to win this match to take the title whereas a draw will suffice for Rastrick to be the first-ever Division 10 Champions.

That defeat for Brockholes E sent them down into the relegation places as Outlane B had a good 6-2 win over Brockholes D to move above the dreaded drop line in the table. Still one more week of action before everything is decided when a bottom two tussle will determine the fate of both those teams.
